Linda Blair is a versatile and popular performer whose career spans film, television and stage. Widely recognized for her film and television roles, Linda's best known works include the classic, The Exorcist, the much lauded tele-film dramas, Born Innocent (dir. Donald Wrye); Sara T.., Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (dir. Richard Donner); Sweet Hostage (dir. Martin Sheen); Summer of Fear (dir. Wes Craven); the cult favorite Roller Boogie and the hit feature parody Repossessed, which also starred Leslie Nielson. In addition, Linda and Bobcat Goldwaite recurred as the Bundy's trailer trash cousins in the hit TV sitcom, Married With Children.
In the fall of 1998, Linda gave a critically acclaimed performance as a novelist suffering with multiple personalities in a special television appearance on Psi-Factor, hosted by Dan Akroyd. This episode won the number position for the week. In 1997, this versatile actress won the Best Actress award from the New Orleans Film Festival for her work in Marina.
Linda's stage credits include a 1997 successful Broadway debut as Rizzo in the popular production of Grease. Other stage credits include, The Los Angeles production of the hit comedy, Women Behind Bars, with Sally Kellerman; the San Francisco production of Run For Your Wife; and the Canadian production of the romantic comedy, It Had To Be You.
Linda was raised in rural Connecticut, not far from New York City, where she began modeling and acting at age five. By her tenth birthday, her credits included more than 75 commercials, numerous voice-over assignments, magazine covers and layouts, a recurring soap opera role and two feature film parts. Apart from her professional life, young Linda had a variety of pets, studied gymnastics, piano, sailing and modern dance. However, Linda's main passion was riding horses. Her hopes of pursuing veterinary medicine were side-tracked, however, with her landmark and career altering casting in the role of Regan MacNeil in, The Exorcist. She redirected her love of horses in the world of show jumping and ultimately became a leading amateur owner/jumper/rider on the prestigious Florida circuit throughout her life.
In recent years, Linda has become an animal rights activist and humanitarian worldwide renown. Some of the charities she serves are: Actors & Others For Animals, Last Chance For Animals, PETA, and Ark Trust. In addition, Linda has worked for the past several years with Feed The Children, aiding those left homeless from natural disasters and Variety, the children's charity.
Linda's new production company, Falcon/Wolf is dedicated to developing comedies and programming that will raise awareness of the problems affecting the quality of life. Her projects have recently been optioned by Tri-Star Television and Fred Silverman Productions.
